How to chose the RIGHT idea for your book

So…

Analysis paralysis = the nail in the coffin of your author aspirations…

If you are anything like I used to be, picking an idea can be where your writing journey begins and ends.

There is the fear of not choosing the right idea.
There is the overwhelm of having too many ideas.
There is the despair of not even having an idea.

What if…
– you run out of steam half way through…?
– someone else has already done it, and better…?
– your readers don’t like it…?
…and sooooo many more inner doubts and mind-games.

Here is the thing (and this is a secret you won’t hear from most author coaches) …

..

There is no right or wrong idea. There are only WRITTEN ideas and UNWRITTEN ideas.

There will always be more ideas and the right idea is the one you chose.

– I promise you that at some point in your writing you will wish you had picked a different topic.

– I promise you that at another time you will be inspired and excited by the topic you did choose.

– I promise you that a written imperfect idea is better (by far), than an unwritten perfect one.

This three step process will help you to nail your next idea and take action.

How passionate are you about it (scale of 1 – 10)
How knowledgeable are you about it (scale of 1 – 10)
How useful/popular is the topic (scale of 1 – 10)

If you score over 25 – GO FOR IT!
